We have three national events a year: The Forum, Summer Gathering, and Shared Planet. There are also lots of local events organised by P&P groups and Regional Reps. And opportunities to do festival stewarding at many of this summer’s big music festivals.
Shared Planet
Shared Planet brings hundreds of students and young people together for a weekend packed with big-name speakers, skills and issues workshops, debates, discussions, art, and a massive party!
Shared Planet 2008 will be at Birmingham University from 21 - 23 November.
The Forum
The Forum 2008 took place in Manchester over the weekend 7-9 March.
The Forum is our main democratic event where students from across the country gather to discuss, debate and decide on P&P’s future campaigns and direction. This is where new ideas are brainstormed, feedback is given and decisions are made on the future work of People & Planet.
People & Planet’s campaigns are chosen by students, so that they will always be relevant to students. The event is jammed full of exciting debates and opportunities to meet other inspiring activists from around the country. But most importantly, it means that People & Planet embodies its ideals - empowering young people to make the decisions that count.
Regional Events
Regional Events are a great chance to get some campaign skills training, learn about the issues and meet students from other P&P groups nearby.

Festivals
People & Planet provide volunteer stewards and bar workers at a number of Summer music festivals, including The Green Man and Secret Garden Party. Find out more about how to become a volunteer and have fun in the mud.
Summer Gathering
The Summer Gathering is week-long training event that is intense yet chilled-out at the same time! This is our key event for building a strong, sustainable campaigning network where group organisers come to learn from each other and speakers.
It’s also time for sitting round a campfire swapping stories and getting inspired by chatting with all the amazing people in our network.
This year’s Summer Gathering was from 29 June - 3 July.
