Are you going to be running a People & Planet group or campaign in 2008/2009? If so then the Summer Gathering is THE student training event for you.
Kick off your summer from 29 June - 3 July with four packed days of skills and issue workshops, campaign updates, speakers and evening entertainment. By the time you´ve finished you will be equipped with the skills to run expert campaigns across the country, addressing the root causes of social injustice and environmental degradation.
Spend your days in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside with loads of other student campaigners sharing ideas and make regional connections and plans.

Essential Information
Time and Date: 4pm Sunday 29 June to 2.30pm Thursday 3 July
Place: Youlbury campsite just outside of Oxford.
Cost: £65, including:
- 4 days of campaign training and skills workshops (including both basic and advance levels)
- 4 nights camping or dormitory accommodation (tents not provided!)
- proper toilets, hot showers and washing facilities
- 3 meals a day
- evening entertainment and lots more

To make the Summer Gathering as relevant to you as possible we are looking for input into the agenda so if you have any ideas for workshops, speakers or activities please include them in your booking form.
Covering the cost
Most students can request funding for training events from their Students’ Union or Volunteer Service. To help with this we have provided a letter of support.
You could hold a fundraising event for People & Planet which will develop new skills and strengthen your group. If you raise £65 or more we will provide you a place in return. Why not arrive at the Summer Gathering by getting sponsored to walk or cycle?! For loads more ideas visit the fundraising pages.
If you are struggling to find funding for your place at the Summer Gathering, we are keen to try and help you. Please contact us and we will discuss the funding options which are available to you.
Practical details
Youlbury campsite is just outside the Oxford ring-road and is within cycling distance from Oxford train station. For those of you not intending on navigating the British public transport system with a bike in tow, P&P will be providing a handy shuttle bus service from Oxford train station to the campsite. Details to be confirmed.
